At Westridge Primary School, we believe that early childhood education forms the foundation for lifelong learning. Our ECD program is designed to nurture each child's unique potential through a caring, play-based approach that prepares them for academic success and personal growth.
The ECD Department has 5 classes catering for children aged 2-5 years from ECD AA to ECD B. We follow the Cambridge Foundation syllabus and The Ministry of Education, Sports & Culture curriculum as well as Singapore Maths, providing a comprehensive educational experience.

Key Development Areas
- Pre-reading skills development
- Language and communication skills
- Alphabet introduction using Letterland

- Creative activities: painting, cutting, collage

Learning Methods: Rhymes, music, movement, stories, play dough and fantasy play

Assessment: Grade 1 assessments mid-year, school reports twice yearly
Curriculum
We follow the Cambridge Foundation syllabus and The Ministry of Education, Sports & Culture curriculum as well as Singapore Maths. Our curriculum allows children to concentrate on the fundamentals of reading, writing, mathematics, art, music, drama, science, robotics and IT.
Subjects Taught:
- Mathematics - Number activities, counting, and basic mathematical concepts using Singapore Maths methodology
- Phonics & Language - Developing communication skills through Letterland and Oxford Reading Tree
- Science - Exploring the natural world through observation and experimentation
- Heritage Studies - Learning about cultural heritage, traditions, and values
- Art & Music - Creative expression through painting, cutting, collage, play dough, music, and dramatic play
- ICT & Robotics - Introduction to technology, computers, and robotics
- Physical Education - Ball skills, movement, coordination, and physical development
- Shona - Local language development and cultural appreciation

Age Payment Structure
- ECD AA: 2 - 3 years
- ECD A: 3 - 4 years
- ECD B: 4 - 5 years
Admission Process and Form
- Complete the application form
- Submit required documents
- Attend a brief interview with the ECD Department Head
- Receive admission decision within 5 working days
- Complete enrollment and payment
